Ryan’s primary work
I have to share this before I forget. The other day I was going through the diaper bag and found Ryan’s most recent artwork from his Primary class. I know, sad that it took me a few days to look at it. No excuses from me. Anyways, it has a line drawn down the middle of it. On the left it says “I thank thee …”, on the right it says “I ask thee”. So I realize his lesson was about prayer. Below the words was Ryan’s artwork with the teacher’s description of what Ryan had told her he had drawn. He is thankful for daisies.
And he asks for Mommy to be happy, and for a rocket. ![]()
So when I brought his paper to him and asked him what this was, he proceeded to tell me a story about it. Yes he knew he had drawn daisies. Though I didn’t even know he knew what daisies were since I don’t grow them and we haven’t talked about daisies really. But then he told me about what he asks for. He said he always wants Mommy to be happy all day long and then when I am happy he and I can fly in a rocket. So that is why he asked for the rocket to help make he and I both happy.
What a cute boy. I was crying my eyes out while he was telling me this. Just with the stick figure Mommy and the teacher’s writing next to it saying Mommy to be happy. I love that my son wants me to be happy. And I realize that me being home with him everyday is such a wonderful thing that I could never ever take away from him. It is so wonderful to be able to teach him to read and write and do so many independent things. I love him so much and am so thankful for the blessings he asks for. Even when his prayers get a little funny and he asks for things only a 5 year old boy would ask for. My favorite thing he says lately in his prayers is “Please help me to have fun playing my game (whatever Wii game), and please help me grow up and get older like Daddy so I can play my Mario fighting game (Mario Smash Bros.)” Super cute and was pretty funny the first few times. Now we are kind of used to it. Is it bad to not try to talk him out of saying those things?
Okay, I have to get to bed now. Tomorrow is the Primary Presentation and being in charge of it, I guess I shouldn’t sleep through any part of it.
Talk to ya later!!!
I taught the class this day. I laughed when he was telling me the story he told you! Very cute. Oh, and my kids pray about Wii games too!
Sassy
